Itinerary

Day 1

This morning I will personally pick you up from OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. We will make our way the Maseke Balule Game Reserve on the border of the Kruger National Park. The fences between the reserves have been dropped so game can roam freely between the reserves. While the game viewer departs with all excess luggage destined for camp, we will enjoy a 2-3-hour afternoon walk over a beautiful koppie to the first campsite. Once settled in at camp, climb aboard the game viewer for an evening sundowner drive before returning to a fire-lit camp under the stars. Enjoy dinner before turning in for the first night camping in the wild. Each tent is equipped with twin beds and an en suite bathroom with a bucket shower and chemical toilet. (D)

Day 2 and 3

Wake up to coffee and a light breakfast of rusks, fruit and yoghurt before kitting up and departing the camp for a 3-4-hour walking trail through the reserve. At about 10h30, we will enjoy a packed brunch and a siesta in the shade before continuing with the afternoon walk. After 2-3 hours’ walk, we will arrive the campsite. Relax in camp with an afternoon snack before boarding the game viewer for the sunset game drive. After the drive, we will return to camp for a fireside dinner and a good night’s sleep. (B|L|D)

Day 4, 5 and 6

After a quick coffee we depart on a gentle walk, watching the hippos and crocodiles along the Olifants River. After a well-deserved breakfast, we pack our bags and travel to the Manyeleti Game Reserve. This safari camp has an authentic rustic charm but is oh so luxurious. We will be staying in very comfortable, typical safari-style tents with en suite bathrooms. For the next 2 days, we will enjoy thrilling dawn and dusk safaris, warm hospitality and Proudly South African cuisine. The pace of life at the camp will be entirely up to you. In-between safaris there will be plenty of time for yourself as well – read that novel you’ve been putting or have a power-nap. Photographers can practise their skills as there are plenty of smaller critters and beautiful landscapes to photograph. Fully embrace the serenity and tranquility of this remote hideaway in the bushveld.  (B|L|D)

Day 7

We get up early to enjoy our last guided walk in the African bush. After breakfast we will pack up and check in to our guesthouse before heading on a cruise on the Blyde River Canyon. The rest of the afternoon can be spent at your leisure and we will head to the closest town for dinner. (B)

Day 8

Today will be an action packed day. After an early breakfast we bid farewell to our gracious hosts and enjoy the stunning Panorama Route – we will stop to see Bourke’s Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels and God’s Window. This region is renowned for its stunning waterfalls. This afternoon, you will have some solo time to explore the town. Dare to do the The Big swing or go down the amazing glass lift into the Graskop Gorge. There are many great restaurants and micro-breweries in the area and we will cosy up in one of them this evening to enjoy our last dinner together as a group. (B)

Day 9

Our women’s safari has come to an end! After breakfast we will make our way back to Johannesburg. We will stop in the quaint town of Dullstroom for lunch and arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in the late afternoon. (B)
